LIPS: Although some people were born with perfectly symmetrical, plump lips, most of us are not so lucky. We feel a certain lacking in our appearance when we think that our lips are flat and thin. As we grow older, our lips seem to shrink. It is a part of the aging process. Permanent makeup can be a great solution to fix these problems. Beautiful, sensual lips are created by adding natural color where needed, achieving instant fullness and definition.

Lip enhancements are a great way of subtly replacing lost pigment especially to the outer border of the lips where it most commonly fades as we age. The technique of blending the pigment with the natural color of the lip ensures no harsh out lines. The initial treatment requires two visits spaced approximately 2-6 weeks apart. Permanent make up as the name implies requires periodical maintenance to ensure the freshness of the look, but you can expect the enhancement to last anywhere from 12 months to 36 months before a re-touch treatment is required. Permanent lip color is perfect for asymmetrical shaped lips, thick lips, thin lips, or lips with uneven vermillion borders.  It will also eliminate the problem of lipstick “bleeding” into the fine lines around the mouth. Does your lipstick bleed? Have your lips lost their definition and natural coloring around the lip border? Imagine having lip color morning through night, 24 hours a day, throughout the year. Permanent lip color can give you the optical illusion of fuller looking lips without the painful and temporary injection of collagen.

Permanent lip color can be applied using several different methodologies. Depending on your personal preference, lip color can be applied only as a lip line to reshape and contour lips for a more defined sensual look. Many clients are deciding to have the lip line slightly blended into the lips for a softer less defined appearance. Another option is to have the entire lip filled with color for a more lipstick effect. You can chose colors that match your natural lip color or more vibrant lipstick tones. We highly recommend a color patch test to determine the right color for you. Selecting a color is a process that takes into account your natural lip color, your skin color, your lip shape and the desired base color.  A lip procedure takes approximately 1 to 2 hours. Immediately after the procedure the color will appear darker and brighter than expected, but usually fades up to 20 to 35 percent within 4 to 6 weeks. At this time a touch-up is performed to put on the finishing touches. Your lips may go through several color changes. Around the 10th day the treated area may look as if the color has completely vanished. About the 14th to 16th day the color appears to resurface. Your lips may feel chapped for several weeks so be sure to keep them well moisturized with a lip balm.
